FAQ

Common questions.

Will it false-trigger from the aircon airflow? +
PIR sensors trigger on heat, not air movement. Aircon won't false-trigger it. Pets above ~20kg might.
Do I need a Hub? +
For app notifications and automations involving other SwitchBot devices, yes — Hub 2/3 is the gateway.
Can it trigger lights that aren't SwitchBot? +
Through the Hub, yes — any IR remote-controlled light, or a light switch controlled by SwitchBot Bot.
Is it weatherproof for outside the gate? +
No — indoor use only. For outdoor security, the Smart Video Doorbell has motion detection.
