FAQ

Common questions about the Bot.

Will it work on my specific switch? +
If the switch can be pressed by a finger with under 1.6kgf of force, yes. That covers most common PH rocker switches, push buttons, and appliance buttons. Big industrial breakers may be too stiff.
Can it pull a switch back to "off"? +
Yes — using the included add-on. The sticker mate attaches to the switch lever, and the Bot's arm can pull it back. Great for proper rocker light switches.
Do I need a Hub? +
Not for in-home use — the SwitchBot app controls it over Bluetooth from anywhere in your unit. Add Hub 2 or Hub 3 if you want to control it from outside the home, use schedules while you're away, or trigger it with Alexa / Google / Siri.
Will the adhesive damage my walls? +
Usually no, as long as it is installed on a clean, smooth surface and removed slowly. Avoid loose paint, textured walls, wallpaper, or flaking laminate; any strong adhesive can lift weak finishes.
