Can it be fooled by a photo of me? +
No — it uses 3D depth sensing, like Face ID on iPhone. A flat photo or video is rejected.
Do I need a Lock to use this? +
Yes. The Keypad is an unlock interface — it talks to a SwitchBot Lock / Lock Pro / Lock Ultra over Bluetooth.
What if my face is in shadow / I'm wearing a mask? +
It works with masks and dim light. Heavy backlighting from the sun can sometimes need 1–2 retries; fingerprint or PIN are always backups.
